Quick Tip - 'Madam Chairman'

I recently attended a meeting where each speaker formally addresses the group and/or the organizer before they begin to speak.  The president of the group is a woman.  Throughout the meeting, I noticed that the majority of speakers addressed the president and chair as “Madam Chairman”.  With gender-neutral terms available such as Chair or Chairperson, I mentioned to the group that saying chairman to a woman sounded paradoxical to me.

They may or may not choose to use a more inclusive term – will you?
